Owning a domain comes with real rights, not just a receipt. Whether you have one domain or a hundred, these rights apply to every name you register with CortexGrip.
1. Where these rights come from
ICANN, the non-profit that coordinates domain names worldwide, sets rules that every accredited registrar must follow. Some country extensions, like .uk, also have their own registrant protections set by their registry.
2. Your rights
As a CortexGrip registrant, you’re entitled to:
- 01
Clear information
About the registration process, prices and who runs each extension.
- 02
Prices before you pay
Registration, renewal, transfer and restore fees, shown up front.
- 03
Control of your domain
Choose its settings, DNS and how it’s used, within the law.
- 04
Freedom to transfer
Move to another registrar after the 60-day lock, with no hold-ups.
- 05
Timely reminders
Renewal emails at 30, 7 and 1 day before your domain expires.
- 06
A fair dispute process
Independent decisions under UDRP or Nominet’s DRS.
- 07
Protected personal data
Free WHOIS privacy wherever the extension allows it.
- 08
Safety if we close
Your data is held in escrow so your domain can move to another registrar.
3. Your responsibilities
In return, a few things are asked of you as the registrant:
Give accurate contact details and update them within 7 days of any change
Reply to verification emails from us or the registry
Don’t register or use a domain that infringes someone else’s rights
Pay renewal fees on time, or switch auto-renew on
Keep your CortexGrip login and auth codes safe
IN PLAIN ENGLISH
Keep your details current, renew on time and use your domain fairly.
4. Official educational material
ICANN publishes guides that explain your rights in more detail. These are the ones we recommend reading:

5. If something goes wrong
Talk to us first: most domain issues are fixed in one conversation with our domain team. If we can’t resolve it, you can submit a complaint to ICANN’s Contractual Compliance team at icann.org/compliance.
